There were quite a few comments from our visitors, especially on the Daily Killer Sudoku page, which makes that and other pages load slow. Therefore, I have moved some of the old comments to this new category.
If you’d like to read what other people had to say about our puzzles you may find the old comment by clicking on the “comments” link below or here.
UPDATE (some 5 years later): I reopened the comments on all pages. Feel free to add your comments there, it means a lot to me!
im having problems downloading the image.. i think thers a firewall in my company.. too bad i enjoyed your site. i found it to have the best killer sudoku. ill miss it!
I doubt the problem is with the firewall. What does precisely happen when you click on the image?
Is anyone else experiencing problems downloading the image?
I can see in the stats that the file has been downloaded more than 350 times today, so it’s working for most people.
below is waht i get..

The requested item has a MIME type that is blocked by the proxy.
Cindy, please try again. I changed the mime type to be image/png which should be allowed on your proxy.
Let me know if it works!
I’m having the same problem as the other Cindy. 😉 I can’t download the daily killer. I just reloads the same page, but doesn’t start downloading. It does work on another computer, so it’s probably my firewall. Strange….
Will it indicate if it is a diagonal puzzle because it hasn’t in the past when I have saved the picture?
Was really enjoying your challenging puzzles.
Not anymore because when i click on the the grid to download ‘today’s puzzle’ i keep getting the same page coming up. please help!
Thanks for the reply, I didn’t realise that the puzzles are not archived 🙁
Anyway, If you would be kind enough to temporarily post solution to sep 28th puzzle (yes, 28th, not 27) I’d be grateful.
Thanks
Olga
Oh, and I forgot to mention that I love your site, especially the Killer Sudokus and the solving techniques. Thank you!
Olga, I just uploaded the solution to Sep 28 to the archive. Enjoy! Thanks for your kind word 🙂
Thanks! I downloaded the solution!
Wow, great website. Finally somewhere I can get the killers!
However, the images get blocked and won’t be able to be downloaded if you have Norton Firewall running. It just takes you back to the main page. Disabling it lets you view the puzzles.

I’ve ammended the download manager and I hope you won’t have any more problems downloading images. If anyone still can’t download puzzles – e-mail sudoku@djapedjape.com
It is a great site and I love the daily killer.
However, I don’t like having to download it. It is clumsy and time consuming. I much preferred the previous method.
Vanda
Hi
Can you display the scale of difficulty again please, as i can’t remember the sequence 🙂
I must disagree with vanda, i find downloading the puzzle much better as i can print it up to fit the page – much bigger than before.
Loving the Killer Sudoku
Sarah
The difficulty can be found here: http://www.djapedjape.com/?p=71
You should always look under the “sample puzzles” category (on the right hand side) for any issues re daily puzzles.
Cheers!
Hi, DJ! How’s it going? Any word on when your new version will be available?
Best of luck with it – we’re looking forward to seeing it.
Do you have a program that generates a blank grid for Killer Sudoku? I have gone horribly wrong on an old puzzle and would like to redo it? Using a huge amount of Tipex doesn’t appeal to me 🙂
Martin, a blank classic Sudoku grid can be found here: http://www.djapedjape.com/?p=39 You can use it for solving Killers, but you must draw the cages by hand.
Hey djape,
Just want to report that the page of “Daily Sudoku” (the classics) says the current puzzle is Friday Oct 14 but the last one is actually Tuesday Oct 18. Getting a bit confusing now.
I understand the classics are not “daily” anymore, which is perfectly alright. But it would be nice to have some indicators on the side menus about the dates of your current posted daily killer/sudoku(classic)/samurai so that we don’t need to keep clicking the links. Just a suggestion…
Thanks again for your great puzzles!
It’s no possible 15 in the second jail. The correct result must be 17. Am I right?. Sorry for my bad english. Thanks
I think it’s possible :). And my solver and my generator say that it is possible! You will see the solution tomorrow :).
It’s a pity that perfect Sudoku will be only for Windows users, people of the Mac platform will not be able to use it….
I will have to look for new killer sudokus in other sites…. please help! ,-9
Matteo
Yep, my brain/iq also says it’s possible. LOL 😉 Just solved it.
did not enjoy todays. could not figure it out!
Hi Cindy,
How far did you get on today’s puzzle? Maybe I can help you on the next step. It took me a while to “see” it and this puzzle involves a lot of maths, multiple innies/outies, cage splitting… I’d almost rate it as INSANEEEEE !!!
Don’t give up!
Cindy (from Spain)
Thought Friday 21st killer was excellent. The two 8’s outside the middle box that had to add up to sixteen was the breakthrough.
An L-shaped cage of 3 numbers covering 3 nonets could have the same number in twice. I have never seen this. Is there some unwritten rule against this happening?
Mike Japan
Not sure if you are referring to one of the puzzles posted here or not, but anyway: there has been some controversy in sudoku forum discussions regarding if a cage could contain one number more than once. The way I see it and the way I think most people see it, is that it cannot.
Therefore, puzzles posted here have only one solution as long as you follow that rule – you can’t repeat a number within a cage.
This puzzle was fun in that it was a bit more challanging. You just have to do all the innies and outies first, then break the cages. Once you get the single boxes. Work on the double boxes with the same method. That is the real key to limit the number choices in the boxes.
How about preventing accidental overwriting of user input numbers. Perhaps a double click to clear first.
great site just found it! any chance you can put October 13th back in the archives so i can follow your complex in/out example with the original blank, as i can’t get started with this weekends
regards from south wales
Got the IQ puzzle out, but it still took two and a half hours! I love a challenge… keep em coming, DJ!
The Friday 21st Oct puzzle was awesome… I hope that you put up more puzzles like that… Great site this one! Keep up the good work..
Thanks.
Really enjoyed this puzzle! Can we have a few more of this level of difficulty or harder, please? 😀
Michael, I think you have a good point there. Will be done in the next version. Not sure when will that be released.
I totally agree. Friday’s puzzle was A MASTERPIECE!!! Don’t you all just love a challenge?
i thought you can repeat a number in the same cage as long as it doenst fall into the same row/column.. ill give fridays another shot thanks!
I downloaded but get the message “The application failed to initialize properly (0xc0000135)….
What went wrong?
I like the site – a very good and interesting set of puzzles.
It would be useful to be able to print a bigger grid. Being able to save the grid as a JPG file would help
Tony, you need to download the Microsoft .Net Framework if you’re getting that message. Check the link under “NOTE” shown above.
Was yesterday’s (i.e. 24 October) Classic Sudoku actually soluble? I could not do it without two or three bouts of T&E.
Phew – Tuesday’s killer was a really good one. I spent ages with just 2 numbers in the top left before I started to figure out how to crack the lil critter.
Just love these puzzles – thanks so much
Graham
graham
know what you mean. i am still stuck with 2 numbers in top left. will keep trying.
Good luck David 🙂
Thanks Graham. Either im being really thick this week or they are getting harder, I am still struggling with Tuesday and Wednesday!!
Graham and David, perhaps you should check other pages of this site other than the ‘Daily Killer’ page :).
I made a post yesterday after I saw your comments. I further explained “complex innies/outies” which help a lot in solving the Tuesday Killer.
Check the Solving tips section!
djape
The “penny has dropped”. I have just been using innies outies with regards to 3×3 boxes and not columns and rows. Thanks!
Can this be solved? I’m not sure of the terminology but in the top left ‘block’ of 9 squares you have 16+8+8+13 which equals 46. This isn’t possible if you’re using the numbers 1-9.
Ooops, bit of a cock-up in the arithmetic front. Sorry about that.
