Consecutive TwoDoku X

To be honest, I haven’t kept track of all the different sudoku variants that I have posted and which ones I never posted, but I think that this is the first Consecutive TwoDoku X sudoku puzzle ever. I will check in my archive when I find some time to see if this is true or not. Anyway, “pipes” (“|” symbols) between cells mean that those cells must contain consecutive numbers. If there is no pipe – those cells can’t contain consecutive numbers. This second part of the rule is very important but also easy to forget. Consecutive TwoDoku X for Monday, August 21 – IQ – this is the only place you can find this kind of Sudoku puzzles! Click on the puzzle thumbnail to access the puzzle.

“Greater/Less Than” Samurai Sudoku!

I have only posted one puzzle of this kind so far and here is a new one – “<>” puzzle in Samurai layout! No given numbers to begin with, instead, there are greater than and less than signs all over the place. Still, this puzzle can be solved by using deduction only, no guessing is required! Extra special – Butterfly Killer Sudoku (hard)

Somehow butterfly puzzles have been neglected in the past few months and it’s time to rectify. A quick reminder – this breed of overlapping sudoku puzzles was suggested by udosuk and implemented by myself. There are 4 “classic” 9×9 Killer Sudoku puzzles inside this one. They all overlap and they all must be solved according to the rules of Sudoku. You can (in fact, you must) use the Twin Nonets solving technique for this one! I’m back!

Sorry folks, I know that the site hasn’t been updated in the past 10 days (except for the Daily Killer Sudoku) and I apologize for that. I had to go on a trip and had absolutely no web access there! I will start updating things as normally. There will be some extra puzzles, too! 🙂

Twin Killer Sudoku

Just so you don’t think that I disappeared off the face of the earth (or sea?), here is a new Twin Killer sudoku puzzle for you! Two puzzles that do not overlap. Instead, they are placed next to each other, but most importantly – they both have the same solution. Or, to be more precise, you are looking for one solution that solves both puzzles. The previous Twin Killer Sudoku that I posted was a “conjoined” variation, this one is not. Click on the puzzle thumbnail to access the puzzle.

Consecutive Samurai Sudoku

Since the focus is now on Samurai Sudoku puzzles ;), I’d like to introduce yet another variant of this overlapping 5-in-1 Sudoku puzzles: Consecutive Samurai Sudoku! As far as I know, this is one of a kind puzzle – if you have already seen it elsewhere please do let me know. So, “pipes” (“|” symbols) between cells mean that those cells must contain consecutive numbers. If there is no pipe – those cells can’t contain consecutive numbers. This second part of the rule is very important but also easy to forget. Consecutive Samurai Sudoku for Wednesday, May 24 – THINKER – this is the only place you can find these kind of Sudoku puzzles! Super Sudoku Quad Samurai Puzzle Book with Variants

I’d like to hear your thoughts on how difficult you find these puzzles. There are only 12 starting clues, so it might seem too difficult, but only the very basic techniques are required. Once you get going, it becomes a whole lot easier. Good luck and enjoy!

Clueless Killer Sudoku #2

For those who don’t get enough challenge from Killer Samurai Sudoku nor from Harakiri nor from Twin Killer nor from any other overlapping, odd/even, consecutive or greater/less than sudoku – here is the ultimate challenge – my second ever Clueless Killer Sudoku. If your friends or family call you names when they see you solving this puzzle – please do not complain to me. In fact, I suggest that you just download this puzzle, have a look, but don’t attempt to solve it. Again, thanks to Ruud from www.sudocue.net for inventing the “clueless” concept. In this puzzle, there are 9 Sudoku puzzles with no overlapping regions! If you attempt to solve them individually – you won’t get far. Here is where the “clueless” part comes in: in all of those 9 puzzles, the center nonet is just one cage. As you plug in your numbers, center nonets (shaded in grey) start filling up. The trick is that those 9 center nonets, put together, also constitute a valid Sudoku puzzle. So, when you run out of ideas, start working on the 10th puzzle and it will give you enough information to solve the whole lot. Those 10 puzzles together have, of course, a single solution. Clueless Killer Sudoku for Monday, May 15 – this is the only place you can find these kind of Sudoku puzzles! Click on the puzzle thumbnail to access the puzzle.
