I receive the emails with the puzzles. I enjoy doing them but can we have the solved puzzle also? When I am doing one I never done before it helps me to discover my mistakes when I get stuck. Thanks.
More Tridoku please!
Clare, I will take your suggestion into consideration and make sure that there will be more daily Tridoku puzzles in 2012! 🙂
I don’t understand what this is . . . it has 13 in it ; two ’13’s in the same line.. is it simply a mistake….HELP….and Happy New Year
Rowland, it’s a HITORI puzzle. See the rules here: http://www.djapedjape.com/2009/02/07/myfirsthitoripuzzleandabigonetoo/
Variant on 2/6. What do the black and white boxes mean?
Grey boxes=odd numbers
White boxes=even numbers
Just like in the Outside Sudoku book 🙂
Don’t understand the rules of this puzzle. How are the gray cells treated?
Sorry I didn’t see response 17. Cancel question
What are the rules for todays outside sudoku? What are the shaded areas for?Thank you
Fernando Illanes
Fernando,
today’s puzzle is odd even Outside Sudoku.
shaded cells = odd numbers
non shaded cells = even numbers
Hope this helps. 🙂
Djape
Would you please provide the name of the type of variant puzzle? I feel this would be very helpful in order to look up rules for the puzzle type. Thanks
What do you call today´s variant and how do you solve it? Thanks, Fernando
Ellen, Fernando,
Today’s puzzle is a Hidoku puzzle. Fill in all numbers from 1 to 100. Consecutive numbers must touch horizontally, vertically or diagonally.
Hope it helps. 🙂
I understand nonconsecutive sudoku but what do the dark bars represent? Apparently this is some sort of variation. Thanks!
Ellen, the (non)consecutive sudoku puzzles with dark bars mean that the numbers connected by dark bars must be CONSECUTIVE. So it’s both a consecutive sudoku and non consecutive sudoku, because all other numbers must still be nonconsecutive.
Dear Djape,
i need no book to read, i need no alcohol, i need no cigarettes, i need no TV, i need no sleep, i don´t need anything – to relax i just need zero killer sudokus level IQ from Djape.
So, where is the book?
Best regards from Germany yours Denise
Dear Denise,
I love your comment! 🙂 But I must say you disappoint me a little – you didn’t look hard enough. There is already a Zero Killer book and it’s also available in Germany!!!
http://www.amazon.de/dp/1438284306?tag=thehomeofperf20
So what are you waiting for? There is only one left in stock, so go grab it! 🙂
Best,
Djape
Dear Djape,
sorry for disappointing you i should better keep you in line. I´ve already bought ALL of your in Germany available books including zero killer sudouku maximum challenge. I didn´t need the pages 104112 and the really entertaining puzzles started with no. 41. This book is from 2009 – now is 2012!!!You can´t let me suffer for another 3 years!
I really need some new stuff very hardly i´ve started smoking, reading books, drinking alcohol – and talking to my husband. Denise
The puzzle for 6/27/12 did not appear on the website. The puzzle for 6/28/12 did not appear also. The solution for 6/27/12 puzzle did. I should say any puzzles on the website have not changed since 6/26/12. What happened?
Disregard last email.
What are the rules for solving a PicCross? I do not know what to do!
Thanks so much for another great triangular puzzle! I really enjoy solving these, especially the COOL and THINKER levels right now. With more practice, I hope to be able to do the harder ones.
On 25/09/2012 was published in this category a classic sudoku with a THINKER level. It seems a sudoku without solution or, at least, a solution with logic. I tried everything including Xwing! I got 27’s, 47’s and 247’s in every place but without success for a logic solution! Anybody can help me? I don’t like to do sudoku by tentatives!
Fernando, you see the thin grey lines across the puzzle? It means it’s a diagonal sudoku! No repeats are allowed on the diagonals! 🙂
This is a sudoku variants page, which means that I rarely (or never) post classic sudoku puzzles here.
Cheers
Current puzzle doesn’t seem to be showing up “for the first 15 minutes of every hour” yet. Problem? Can see it on another machine that I did a “Like” from.
Haved liked on FB and checked the first 15 minutes of the hour. Unable to see the sudoku variant.
Been on the site since 1200. It’s now 1205 I’ve gotten off the site and back on twice, still no puzzle.
I will not use facebook. They spy onto your email lists, sell your name to spammers, track, store and report your internet activity. All this leads to identity the ft. Facebook privacy violations are well documented. Please stop using this as a precondition to puzzles or the archive.
Why the Facebook requirements?
I’m trying to get more visitors to the site. If you share on facebook, more people see and search engines pick up more pages. That’s the only reason. 🙂
Like I said – you are downloading puzzles from my website for free, which means you like them. So I’m asking to confirm that by clicking on the “Like” button. 🙂
Thank you!
This Facebook requirement is the best way I know of to drive people AWAY from your site, including longtime fans.
Enxio, aren’t you being a bit harsh? It’s not a requirement, because you can still access the puzzles without any problems 50% of the time. Also, it IS going to go away almost completely very soon, in about a month or so.
If that’s too much for you after 7 years and THOUSANDS of FREE puzzles, than I would be really sorry to see you leave.
Pedja, I don’t fault you for trying to boost your Internet exposure (search engines and all that). I just think that, while the Facebook thing may have sounded like a good idea, it’s having the opposite effect of what you intended, not to mention that many people are having trouble getting it to work. I really don’t see how that’s harsh. Nor am I the only one to have expressed this sentiment. I’m glad to hear that it’s going away, because I think you’re shooting yourself in the foot here.
And I’m NOT able to access the puzzles 50% of the time. The puzzles never appear during the first half of the hour, no matter how many times I refresh the page, regardless of my “liking” the Facebook page or not. I’m not the only one having this issue, either.
Please, rethink this whole Facebook idea, and find another way to increase your Internet visibility, one that doesn’t punish, or at least infuriate, your current user base (you know, the ones you’re asking to promote your site).
Thank you for a different and challenging variant today.
You are very welcome, Ellen! 🙂 How difficult did you find this Diagonal Sudoku 10×10?
I solved your book Outside Sudoku and enjoyed a lot.
Thanks for this book. Looking forward to solve some more books from your side.
Hi,
Is it possible to place in this section, with more frequence, DIAGONAL SUDOKU´s? A high degree of difficult will be appreciated!
Hi Fernando,
Thank you for your request for more Sudoku X puzzles. I always take that into consideration when posting new puzzles. So, this counts as +1 vote for Diagonal Sudoko!
really grateful for the archive, can’t get online every day
something has gone wrong with the variants this week; Monday 18 march is missing and IQ!Jigsaw for 20th and 21st are identical puzzles despite different file names
Hope this can be fixed, thanks
Bati, thanks for pointing this out. I will try to avoid mistakes of this sort in the future.
It’s fixed! I’ve now got both IQ jigsaws, thank you. What a treat! I’d love more IQ tridoku/jigsaw/outside, thanks
I am still not finding the solution to the Weekly Sudoku puzzle posted on Saturday, specifically June 8th and June 15th. Where can I find the solutions?
Did the Daily Puzzles take a Thanksgiving break, too? 😉
Still no update on daily ‘variant’? Missing my regular fix
It is 7:10 AM where I am. I cannot access the daily puzzle despite what you site says about the first 20 minutes of each hour. If my choice is to join Facebook or Twitter to get puzzles, I am afraid my choice will be to go elsewhere – even though I prefer your puzzles and books. I will not join social media sites. I realize this choice is my losss but it is my choice…
Great page actually shows pictures of the different suduku types. However not useful for getting access since non of the puzzles are titled. Personally I like four of them and would love to buy them, yet I do not want the others. Where can I single out the puzzles I want and buy them, AGAIN i do not know what the the puzzles I like are called.
I have a puzzle in one of your books I have not seen before it has three dashed lines on the outside of the puzzle on one of the squares on each side. Can not find a reference to this variation on the Internet what is it and how do you use these lines to assist in solving the puzzle.
Hi Norm, it would help if you told me which book and which puzzle number it was. Anyway, the dashed lines are used to distinguish nonconsecutive sudoku from plain old regular sudoku. Otherwise they look the same, so the dashed lines are used to indicate that it’s a noncons puzzle. Hope this makes sense.
Cheers,
Djape
Thank you that helps.
