Jigsaw TriDoku
Sudoku Variants are back!
Also, as a special gift and to make it up to you, I have prepared a brand new variant – Jigsaw TriDoku.
I think the puzzle is self-explanatory. It is a hybrid between Jigsaw Sudoku and TriDoku. Make sure to use the hexagon rule which can be found in the TriDoku introductory article.
Other TriDoku puzzles can be found in Sudoku variants category.
And finally, here is the puzzle.
TriDoku for Monday, August 30, 2010. Difficulty: THINKER

This booklet is intended for promotional/marketing purposes. Please consider forwarding this booklet to a friend, a relative or a colleague, especially if they happen to be working in the publishing industry. Also, you could forward it to a journalist or to an editor and ask them if they are interested to publish my puzzles in their newspaper. Try explaining them that they should change their puzzles section to include something new. Classic Sudoku has become boring to most people, but the newspaper editors don’t realize that. People need something new, Sudoku variants and other puzzle types should replace classic Sudoku. So, if you can reach any journalist of your local newspaper, please do forward this booklet to them. |

A quick update
It’s been a while since I updated the site, mainly because I’ve been away and sidetracked with other things. I intend to change that.
First of all, the Daily Sudoku page will be back with new puzzles every day starting from September 1. Sorry that it’s been down for 2 months, it’s a slip up on my part.
Also, three new books are coming very soon. All three are very special and I’m sure you will like them.
As you can see, on the left hand side there is a Facebook page widget, which allows you to “like” my website and the corresponding page on Facebook and let your friends know about it. If you have a Facebook account, please click “LIKE”, it means a lot to me.
That’s it for now. Expect more puzzles soon!
A difficult TriDoku (Triangular Sudoku variant) puzzle
After a couple of Killer TriDokus and a TriDoku X, I’d like to show you a classic TriDoku puzzle but somewhat more difficult (or so I think).
For those who are still unfamiliar with this type of triangular Sudoku variation puzzle, please refer to the introductory article.
Other TriDoku puzzles can be found in Sudoku variants category.
And finally, here is the puzzle.

Saturday Special: Anti-King Killer Sudoku
Here’s another Anti-Chess sample puzzle: this one’s a bit harder than the last one.
This one’s a HARD (4/5…BRAIN/IQ) Anti-King Killer
(this puzzle was originally classified insane, but is actually easier than the insane puzzles in the book)
Anti-King means that no two cells one king’s move move away from each other in chess can have the same value. In other words, in addition to the rules of regular sudoku, no diagonally adjacent cells can have the same value.
I have posted a visual walkthrough and solution for this puzzle on the forums here

Overlapping CalcuDoku (Square Wisdom, MathDoku) puzzle
It’s been quite a while since I last posted a CalcuDoku puzzle. I’m going to fix that now and to make it up to you, it will be a somewhat special variant of Square Wisdom puzzles.
It’s an overlapping, 2 in 1 (Gattai-2), CalcuDoku puzzle, which is essentially in a TwoDoku layout.
Remember the rules: there are no 3×3 nonets (nor any other kind of nonets). You only need to make sure that each row and each column contain one occurrence of each digit. And finally, unlike Killer Sudoku puzzles, in CalcuDoku puzzles numbers can be repeated in each cage!
Of course, if you need assistance with cage combinations, you can use the CalcuDoku calculator.

Jigsaw Sudoku in Flower Sudoku format (5 in 1 Gattai-5)
This should be a tough one – perhaps too tough? It’s only rated “BRAIN”, but the layout makes it quite difficult, I think.
5 overlapping Jigsaw Sudoku puzzles put together in the Flower Sudoku (Gattai-5) layout, which is similar to Samurai Sudoku but not exactly the same. Make sure to use the “Twin Nonets” solving technique, otherwise you won’t get too far.
Flower Jigsaw Sudoku for Monday, April 26, 2010 – Difficulty: BRAIN.

A new Hidoku puzzle
Since I stopped with the
Daily Hidoku
puzzles, I never really posted one puzzle of this species for you. Sorry about that, here it is now! By the way, the two Hidoku books I published should be solved in reverse order. 🙂 Why? Because the puzzles in Volume 1 are slightly more difficult than the puzzles in Volume 2! You can also read The rules of Hidoku. 10×10 Hidoku for Monday, April 12, 2010.
