Well, a little later than anticipated, I am ready to show you my first Kendoku (aka Square Wisdom) puzzle!
And to compensate for being late, I have created something really special – the first ever (?) Overlapping Kendoku (CanCan, Square Wisdom) puzzle! If you have seen overlapping Kendoku puzzles elsewhere – please let me know.
Also, I’d like to let you know that as of Monday, October 6, 2008 I will be posting
DAILY KENDOKU Puzzles here on the main page of the website!
Kendoku Rules: Solve the puzzle so that every row and every column contain all numbers from 1-9. Therefore,
numbers cannot be repeated in a row or in a column. Further, numbers in each region (cage) surrounded by thick lines must result in the number indicated for that cage by using the arithmetic operation shown for that cage. To be more specific:
for addition (+) and multiplication (x) when you add/multiply numbers in a cage, the result must be the same as the one shown for that cage
likewise for subtraction (-) and division (/), but make sure you start your arithmetic with the largest number in the cage!
if there is no arithmetic operator shown in a cage, you have to figure out what it must be
numbers CAN BE repeated in any cage
Anyway, here is today’s puzzle:
